Description

Apache — named for the long front & rear loincloth panels that form part of the silhouette.

The 430 Apache Trousers are built around an exaggerated layered silhouette: oversized trousers sitting beneath four independent cloth panels that move separately from the body & from one another.

Long front & rear panels reference the loincloth form, while two shorter side panels interrupt the shape and extend it around the body. Together, the four panels create a broken skirt silhouette over the oversized trousers — long at the front and rear, shorter at either side. As the wearer moves, the panels separate & reveal the trouser structure underneath.

The panels also provide a moving surface for Slum Gentry 167 artwork — crowns, skulls, scratched marks, numbers & roughly drawn symbols printed in broken white across black cloth.

Loose, low & deliberately exaggerated, the underlying trousers fall towards mid-calf. The combination of their volume & the independently moving panels allows the garment to shift between breeches, oversized shorts, apron, loincloth & skirt without resolving itself completely into any one of them.

The skirted construction is deliberately accessible: the silhouette & movement of a skirt while retaining the familiarity and practicality of trousers underneath — an entry point into skirted menswear without becoming a conventional skirt.

Designed to be worn loose, layered & slightly awkward.

Made in London.

Individual garments may vary slightly through printing, placement, cutting & finishing.
