430 Gulliver Shirt

Description

The 430 Gulliver Shirt takes its name from Gulliver’s World, part of the Strangely/430 landscape of references, places & histories.

The shirt takes familiar elements of traditional menswear & knocks them out of alignment. An asymmetric buttoned panel cuts diagonally across the body beneath an extended sculptural collar, breaking the conventional relationship between collar, placket & hem.

Shown here in a purple, green, cream & pale-blue woven stripe, the cloth makes the disruption particularly visible. Straight vertical stripes are interrupted & redirected by the diagonal front & collar construction. The finished shirt will also have a set of custom buttons all a slightly different shape but in the colour ways of the shirt.

The Gulliver Shirt is currently being pattern cut & developed. The artwork shown represents the design in development & some details may change as the physical pattern & sample are completed.

Development artwork shown. The finished shirt will use the striped cloth pictured, with the actual stripe considerably finer in scale than represented in the illustration. Final proportions & construction details may change during pattern development.
